From Student to Teacher: My Journey as an Alumni of Govt. High School No.1 Kamalia

Every student carries special memories of their school life, but very few get the honor of returning to the same institution as a teacher. I consider myself blessed to be among those few. My name is Athar Jan, and I am currently serving as an SSE Computer Science teacher at Govt. High School No.1 Kamalia, the very school where I once sat as a student, learning and dreaming about my future.

I was a proud student of the Rashid Section during the 2009–2011 session under the guidance of my respected class incharge, Ch. Jameel Ahmed Khan (Late). He was a man of discipline, dedication, and wisdom who not only taught us the syllabus but also instilled in us the values of hard work, honesty, and respect for knowledge. His memory still inspires me, and I often recall his words and teaching style while standing in front of my own students today.

After completing my education, I built my career in the field of computer science and digital technologies. In March 2018, I returned to Govt. High School No.1 Kamalia, not as a student but as an SSE (CS) teacher. Teaching Computer Education to classes 9th and 10th, I always feel a deep sense of pride and responsibility, knowing that I am contributing to the same institution that shaped my early years. Standing in the same classrooms where I once sat as a learner gives me immense motivation to serve with sincerity and dedication.

Alongside my teaching profession, I also provide my services as a WordPress and Shopify website designer as well as a professional book designer. Over the years, I have worked on numerous projects, from designing modern, fast, and user-friendly websites to formatting books and eBooks for international publishing platforms. This professional experience allows me to bring real-world insights into the classroom and guide my students on how computer education connects with career opportunities in today’s digital world.

Being both an alumnus and a teacher, my connection with this school runs deep. It has been more than just an institution for me; it has been a second home, a place where my foundation was built and where I now contribute to building the foundation of others. My journey truly reflects the legacy of Govt. High School No.1 Kamalia — an institution that not only educates but also inspires its students to return, serve, and carry forward its tradition of excellence.
